Fuck, what a sad sunday!

Older guys are per se interesting, and with that ton of life experience you bring to the table, there’s absolutely no reason to hide or be shy. Just relax, think nothing of it and get started getting to know people and everything else will fall into place.

Concerning your choice of studies: From all the Brazilians (and Portugese) I met over the years, your English was by far the best. Doesn’t happen everyday that I meet people who can speak colloquial and idiomatically correct English, so I am really glad that you decided to make this your profession. And that engineering knowledge will for sure come in handy some day.

Anyway, I’m glad to see you’re still around. What happened to your blog? Are you blogging somewhere else now? Do you have facebook or sth similar? It would be cool to have you on my friends list.

I just want to comment on your bet that you won’t make out with any of the women in your class, despite the ratio of women to men. As my boyfriend would say, “Not with that attitude, you won’t!” You need to stop being so hard on yourself. You seem like a great guy; I imagine your confidence is the only thing holding you back. Two years ago my friend went back to university. He was 32 at the time, and he discovered that everyone looked up to him as a wise and interesting person. He made out with several girls over the year, and made good friends with a couple guys too. And trust me, as his good friend of over a dozen years, let me assure you that he isn’t any cooler than you are.

Truer words have never been spoken, err… written in this case. I was born in 1968, and I spend more time than ever thinking back to the past, and holding memories like a smooth stone in hand, rubbing my thumb over and over them to remember. I guess that’s why we blog.

We are getting older and since times are speeding up so much is lost in those moments in time which will never come back, like tears in rain.
I often stop and worry that new generations will never get it, that new, way younger co-workers will just never get it how things used to be, were _supposed_ to be, in the _old_ days.

I think that these worries, about how things used to be, and dreaming about those days long gone is just another sign that we are growing up/finally getting old.
