What’s up with all those doctors on your TV?

E.R. was the number 1 most seen TV show in the USA for several years, top 3 for other several years. Ever since Grey’s Anatomy premiered, it kind of exchanged place with E.R. for the most seen TV show. And what about House, M.D. ? It’s a top 10 most seen show in American television for the last 2 years.

So, what’s up with all those doctors on your TV? Why is the medicine world so attractive for us that we spend 3 hours of our week watching medical shows on TV? (and I’m not even mentioning those Discovery Health programs) Honestly, I have no idea… If you have a theory, share it with us. That would be nice.
